Accessed from the front entrance lobby, the Main Hall has a stage equipped to professional standards with lighting rig and sound system, an induction loop for the hard of hearing, a sprung maple floor recognised as the best in the area for dancing, and a small raised dais at the rear. It has thermostatically controlled central heating. Double doors lead to the rear lobby, giving access to the kitchen, rear entrance and the remainder of the building.
This space is entered through double doors leading from the rear lobby, which is in turn accessible via the rear door of the building, enabling the Priory Rooms to be used for separate functions from those using the Main Hall. It has a parquet floor, windows on two sides, a fire exit, an independently controlled central heating system, and can be subdivided into two half sections by means of a sliding concertina curtain. A door at the far end leads to two unisex toilets with washbasins and water heaters and a passageway to the Studio and a second rear entrance.
A small room located off the rear lobby, ideal for small-scale meetings and as a changing room for performers using the stage, since a further small room beyond the Committee Room leads to the stage via a door at the side of the stage.
Access to the Studio is by means of a third entrance to the premises off the rear car park, or through the Priory Rooms if access to the kitchen is needed. It also has the use of the toilets behind the Priory Rooms. The Studio has been used for dance and exercise classes for many years and has a large mirror on the end wall so that dancers can see themselves in action, but it is also well suited to use as a meeting room.
Kitchen – The kitchen is located off the rear lobby between the Main Hall and Priory Rooms and adjacent to the door leading from the rear car park. It is a shared facility available to all users of the Hall and has a large gas cooker, electric water heater, microwave oven, refrigerator, and two sinks. A large serving hatch with lockable shutter opens into the lobby by the doors from the Main Hall, making it easy to serve refreshments during events in the Main Hall, the Priory Rooms and the Committee Room.
Car Parking – There is a limited number of parking spaces at the front of the Hall and alongside the Priory Rooms at the rear of the Main Hall. On-street parking is also available on Church Road and in New Walk.
Wi-fi – Wireless Internet connection is available throughout the building.
Toilets – Leading off the front lobby are the gentlemen’s and ladies’ toilets, a disabled toilet and nappy changing facilities. These were fully re-equipped and refurbished to current standards at the beginning of 2014. Two additional unisex toilets with washbasins and water heaters are located between the Priory Rooms and Studio.
